How do I book an appointment?

To book an appointment, first click on the appointment tab on the top of the screen, then select either relaxation massage services or therapeutic massage services. Each selection has a brief description of the service to help you choose which one is best for you. Once you have chosen a service type, scroll down on the page and choose the type of massage and duration you would like. Lastly, click the Book Now link to fill out the booking form. If the type of service you desire is not listed, please text us at 440- 999- 2873 or click the chat bubble at the bottom right corner of your screen.

How do I know what type of massage to get?

The type of massage you should book depends on the results you are looking to achieve. If you are in alot of pain or have chronic muscle issues, a therapeutic massage will greatly improve your condition and reduce your pain. We have several different techniques of therapeutic massage, including: deep tissue, neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, trigger point therapy and sports massage. Please reference the therapeutic massage services section of the appointments tab for a brief description of each technique. If this is your first massage, looking to de-stress and relax and are not experiencing muscle pain, we recommend a relaxation massage session. Aromatherapy options are available to enhance your relaxation massage.

How do I know what time duration to choose for my session?

The amount of time depends on the results you want to achieve from your session.

**Therapists tip: If you have any problem areas that you would like us to focus on and you would still like a full body massage, we recommend a session of 80 minutes or more so that we have enough time to meet your needs. Your practitioner or therapist may also recommend an upgrade in time duration once they have begun the massage and have gotten a better feel for the work you need.**

How do I book a couples massage?

You can book a couples massage by texting us at 440-999-2873. If you are booking a couples massage, we will assume you are booking our Couples Room, where you and your guest will both be massaged at the same time. If you would like to book an appointment for you and a guest but would like to be massaged in separate rooms, please book an individual appointment. If you have additional questions about a couples massage or have any special requests for planning a romantic surprise for your loved one, please include that in you text message and we’d be happy to assist in creating an enjoyable experience.

What happens if I can't make it to my scheduled appointment?

If you are running late for your appointment or need to reschedule, please text us as soon as possible at 440-999-2873.

Our therapists are subcontractors, which means that they only receive pay for each massage that they perform, and many clients don't realize that if you simply don't show up for your appointment, your therapist does not get paid. Also, if you don't cancel in advance, your therapist may not be able to rebook your slot and then consequently may have an hour of waiting till their next appointment again, without pay. We understand that things come up and people may forget so we make every effort to reach out and confirm you will be coming for your scheduled appointment. We do not currently charge a cancellation fee; however, our therapists reserve the right to decline appointment requests from any client who habitually no-shows their scheduled appointments. Our therapists respect you and show up for you, we appreciate you showing them the same. Thank you so much!

Must I be completely undressed?

You should undress to your desired level of comfort. About half of our clients prefer to be completely undressed, while the other half prefers to keep their undergarments on. This is completely up to you. At Body Remedy Massage we take your comfort very seriously. You will undress and dress in the privacy of your massage room. Additionally, our staff is trained in proper sheeting methods, which allows us to effectively work on specific body parts, while the rest of the body is covered.

**Therapists tip: If you would like the gluteal muscle group worked on, please let the therapist know so they can have you undress accordingly. Massage to the gluteal muscle group is very effective in treating low back issues, sciatica and pain associated with it.**

How often should I receive a massage?

For those who use massage for preventative care or to manage daily stress, one massage a month is common. Weekly sessions may be desirable for injury relief or to relieve chronic tightness, which can interfere with your daily activities. There are many people who incorporate massage therapy at least twice a month for optimal therapeutic relief.

Will I be covered during the session?

You will be properly covered or draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. No areas will be exposed without your consent. You should always let your therapist know if you are uncomfortable for any reason during your massage session.

What is included in the session time?

A session consists of the massage, time for you to dress and undress and time to consult and communicate with the therapist to make your massage truly customized. This is done to ensure that each and every massage session you receive from us meets or exceeds your expectations.

**Therapists tip: Your consultation time is your opportunity to mention any problem areas you would like focused on or areas that you may not want massaged (no oil on face/scalp or ticklish feet or other areas of sensitivity?) Please let us know at any time during the massage if you are uncomfortable with the temperature of the table warmer, position of the knee or face pillow, or the pressure of the massage and we’d be happy to make adjustments to accommodate you.**

What forms of payment do you accept?

Currently, we accept cash, all major credit cards, as well as HSA and FSA health plans. If you have a prescription from your physician for a massage, please supply us a copy for our records (sales tax does not apply to your service with a valid prescription).

 How much should I tip?

Many clients are unsure if and/or how much they should tip their massage therapist. We recommend you think of your massage therapist as you would a waiter in a restaurant. At Body Remedy Massage & Wellness our therapists love what they do and your tip reflects your appreciation for their service. We recommend tipping percentages be based on the full price of a regular massage, rather than the discounted price.

Will I be sore after a massage?

Depending on the type of massage you book (relaxation or therapeutic) you may experience some soreness. This is a normal response due to the manual manipulation of the muscle tissue. Think of a massage like exercise, only we are doing all the work for you. Just like when you exercise you may experience some soreness afterwards, so it is important to properly hydrate before and after your session. This can greatly reduce the risk and amount of soreness you experience. Another commonly experienced side effect is light-headedness. This too is normal and is due to the movement of fluids in the body and the release of impurities within the muscle tissue and should only last a few minutes after the massage. Feel free to have a seat in the lobby until it subsides. If you have any questions please contact us.
